What inspired you to start your business?

I started Bold & Savvy Virtual Assistant because I wanted freedom — the ability to thrive as both a mother and a business owner. I’ve always been the go-to person for family, friends, and colleagues when it came to tech, organization, or streamlining systems, so I decided to turn that skill into something bigger. After having three daughters in two years, I wanted a way to use my passion and expertise while still having the flexibility to be fully present for my family.

What were your biggest fears or doubts before taking the leap — and what gave you the courage to go for it?

My biggest fears were the how: how to start, how to balance it all, how to make it work without being tied to my computer 24/7. Like many moms, I worried about losing myself in the process. What gave me courage was realizing that I needed something for me — something that allowed me to grow, create, and make an impact beyond motherhood.

What’s been your biggest win and biggest challenge in your first year?

My biggest win has been growing Bold & Savvy to full capacity within nine months — fully booked with clients I love and a schedule that works for me and my family. I’ve relied heavily on systems and automations (especially through Dubsado!) to help me streamline my work and achieve that balance. My biggest challenge has been navigating the shift from stay-at-home mom to business owner, but those same systems have given me confidence and peace of mind that everything is running smoothly.

What does success look like to you, and what type of impact are you hoping to make?

Success means providing income for my family while creating a business that runs efficiently behind the scenes — one that gives me freedom, stability, and joy. But even more than that, it’s about showing other moms and entrepreneurs that showing up authentically and confidently can help you thrive. When I help my clients feel empowered in their businesses, it’s a win for both of us.

Why do you believe people should bet on themselves and take the leap to start a business doing what they love?

Because what’s meant for you won’t happen unless you go for it. It’s easy to get stuck thinking about the “what ifs,” but when you take the leap — when you invest in yourself and your growth — the possibilities expand. Becoming your most authentic self and doing what you love makes the leap worth every step.

If chosen for this grant, how would it help you continue building your business?

This grant would help me take my business to the next level — improving my website, investing in professional branding, and outsourcing some areas so I can focus more on what I love. It would also help offset the costs of startup tools and technology that keep my business running smoothly. Ultimately, it would allow me to continue building Bold & Savvy around authenticity, creativity, and connection.
